Linux Security Using AIDE on Ubuntu 18.04

52 ratings | 657 views
You can find many videos or blogs on installing aide. However, most leave you with the default configuration which may not be the most useful to you. In this video we do show the default configuration and the issues you may have with it. We them move on to creating custom configuration files so that you may target just those files you need to be monitored. You will learn how to install aide on Ubuntu 18.04 and how to use it to help protect your system from attack by rootkits and intruders. Additionally you can find my video courses on Pluralsight: http://pluralsight.com/training/Authors/Details/andrew-mallett and take time to see my own site http://www.theurbanpenguin.com

theurbanpenguin thanks for this great video, I am triying to figure out how to run the aide scans from an Ansible server, this way if an attacker gain access to a node managed by Ansible and removes the aide db I can still deploy the db stored in ansible an run a check whit a playbook, but what if they store some malware inside /var/log or a folder not monitored by aide ?
