📖📕 GET THE NEW TINKERNUT BOOK: http://bit.ly/Tinkernutbook 📕📖 This video lays out the steps for creating a very simple encryption and decryption program using free tools. The programming language we will be using is VB Script. See if you can decrypt this text: wkjlue#vnrro#huxwxi#uxr\ You can find all the code for this program as well as an alternative for Apple computers at the project page: http://www.tinkernut.com/archives/4193

Any one tell me that how can i make a new Security algorithm (Symmetric or asymmetric ).Tell me about working of algorithm. Its mine Assignment And present in class. Not already Algorithms present in class sir said present ur own idea so Help me Please.

cool
Ok but how do I make it that an encryption key is unique meaning that encrypting the word "message" won't be the same out come all the time and that they need a unique encryption key maybe a vbs script that creates another script with its own unique algorithm
CEO RecDecLec (7 months ago)
It’s more like decoding since it doesn’t have a key
Sheeraz Bin Saud (8 months ago)
Everything is ok, kindly check that why this script is giving me runtime error while converting character "x". Same error for character "y" comes if I change +3 to +2 and same error comes for character "z" if I change +3 to +1. What I understand that the character very next to z is creating problem. I have windows 7 ultimate edition 64 bit and I converted file using ANSI encoding and my note pad version is 6.1 (Build 7600) Exact error is coming while converting is Line: 6 Char: 1 Error: Invalid procedure call or argument Code: 800A0005 Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error

MindFreaks (1 year ago)
Ok, i made my own encoding but its not just this simple but i would like to get it automated for encryption and decryption The encryption works something like this, first it uses a caesar cipher, it converts that into hexadecimal, it splits the text into an amount of blocks with all 6 hexadecimal combinations and encrypts all those blocks with again  a caesar cipher, the remaining characters are encrypted with a different caesar cipher then this output is scrambled in a logic way and again encrypted with a different caesar cipher its a very complex code and i did one message by hand but it took me over 1 hour to encrypt a simple message :/ if anyone could explain how to automate this that would be amazing!
YaPh1l (8 months ago)
Well, I'm sure this could be done easily with a bit of code, given a full description of the algorithm :)

devilzwishbone2013 (1 year ago)
This would be an entry level encryption as what you are doing is a julius ceaser (ceaser cipher) in which you shift up or down the alphabet x amount of characters what this video failed to comment on is.. the chr and asc code makes reference to the american standard code information interchange (or ascii) this is where 1 letter represents 1 byte for this reason the lowest value is 0 and highest calue is 255 within the ascii table what happens when you add 10 to 250 you get 260 but the highest value is 255 the modular or mod part of the code will therefore make sure its always between 0 and 255 therefore it will not error but the ouput will contain non printable characters 0-31 on the ascii table which some text programmes do not show usually rich text editors abd email programmes so part of your message becomes lost
In which language is this code written ?

lol you can easily decrypt it I did one in visual basic all you have to do is get a piece of paper and notepad type the alphabet and the number from 0-9 on the piece of paper then for every letter/number assign another letter/number and then cross out both of them and type them in notepad after you done this, enter visual basic and make a string builder. for every letter in the alphabet make the string builder put the assigned letter then you got a fully uncryptable encryption program idk if you understood something

try this code ...it'll work, but you must have Notpade or Notpade++ on your PC. and you must choose UTF-8 Encoding 'SIMPLE VB ENCRYPTION PROGRAM 'Create a dialogue box that asks for the text to encode set x = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") mySecret = inputbox("Enter text to be encoded") 'Reverse the submitted text mySecret = StrReverse(mySecret) 'Open up an instance of Notepad to print the results after waiting for 1 second x.Run "%windir%\notepad" wscript.sleep 1000 x.sendkeys encode(mySecret)'This function encodes the text by advancing each character 3 letters function encode(s) For i = 1 To Len(s) newtxt = Mid(s, i, 1) newtxt = Chr(Asc(newtxt)+3) coded = coded & newtxt Next encode = coded End Function

+MMCraftin Yeah, it would seem this is a cheap away to build encryption, and lacking some logic too. If you can understand. There are a certain number of ASCII codes out there. Think of it this way. There are 26 letters in the alphabet. If you took the 25th letter in the alphabet (Y), and said add 5 onto it, that will become the 30th letter in the alphabet. But there isnt a 30th letter. If you want, I can try to write you a code with better logic

The "one-time pad" encryption is mathematically proven to be unbreakable. Even in thousands of years and even with all the computing power in the world. And it is so easy to implement that you can even do it with pen and paper. Just look it up on Wikipedia or anywhere else: "the one-time pad (OTP) is a type of encryption which has been proven to be impossible to crack if used correctly." There on Wikipedia it is also explained how it works. Really easy!

Al Olmstead (5 years ago)
It's actually quite simple, but laborious if done manually. Using any scientific calculator, XOR (exclusive-or) the ASCII equivalents of each character of any text (e.g., a Bible chapter known only to you and your recipient) to the ASCII equivalent of each character in your message; then record the result. Your recipient XORs the same Bibke chapter with your result ti produce the original message. If you do that three times with different chapters, then there is no chance of breaking your code.
carlos enriquez (5 years ago)
So how would you go about making the encryption stronger? Im positive a regular hacker could probably find a way to decrypt this easily
Al Olmstead (5 years ago)
To NMcG: Since I do military grade encryption (unbreakable), I don't care what semantics you want to play. By any name, this is worthless junk.
Derek Kanjus (5 years ago)
It is encryption, it's called a Caesar Cipher. It's just a very outdated encryption method without much modern use.
