I got infected and all my files are encrypted (eg.  Michael_Jackson_Thriller.mp4.cryp1). I stored my encrypted files in an external HDD and formatted my system. Is there a program or a tool that decrypts my files or do I say "Goodbye" to all my files ?   Please help  :(

+Aydanow FILIPOWICH Unfortunately, there is no working decryption tool for Cryp1 (UltraCrypter) ransomware yet. But you could try with data recovery software. In SensorsTechForum's youtube channel you could find a video on how to use such software and recover some of your data.

Latest news on the topic. The good news is the update of Trend Micro Ransomware File Decryptor. The tool can recover files locked by v.1 and v.2. Files locked by v.3 can be partially restored for now. You can download the tool following this link: http://ow.ly/8O4i300Ncgo . The bad news is the emergence of UltraCrypter also known as Cryp1, which is the new version of CryptXXX v.3. You can find further details in this article: http://ow.ly/Bmme300NbTS

I got the same virus in my work computer and unfortunately the usb where I had the backup was also infected. I was able to delete the virus using Spyhunter 4 but although I installed RannohDecryptor it still asks for the original file which I can't seem to find. Every time I try to scan a file it gives me the same message: "The decryption of files encrypted by this variant of Trojan - Ransom Win32 CryptXXX is not supported." What can I possibly do next????????

I was able to decrypt most of the word and excel files using the ransomware file decryptor. Unfortunately i wasnt successfull with the audio, image and video files. Do you have any other suggestions? Are there any updates for the RansomwareFileDecryptor 1.0.1569 MUI? Thank you for your help!

You can try to get back some of your data with Shadow Explorer. Another way is to use data recovery software.
Gergana Ivanova (2 years ago)
CryptXXX v.2.006 significantly changes the size of your files, and this may be the reason why RannohDecryptor cannot restore them. Furthermore, version 3.0 of CryptXXX has yet been reported. Obviously “white hats” are step back from the cyber criminals again. Hopefully, an active decryption tool will be available soon. My advice is not to reformat your drive and utilize some methods to restore some of your data. 1. Use Shadow Explorer and see if some shadow copies are preserved in Windows. 2. Data recovery software is one more way to get your files back. You can find some suggestions here: http://ow.ly/5Fu5300Byd3 3. If the ransomware remains on your system, see how to manage with Network Sniffer and try to discover the key to unlock your files. http://ow.ly/QxnJ300Bytl Write back if you have success. Well it isn't much help when t requires an original file.
Michal Hrusecky (2 years ago)
+Gergana Ivanova When I start the process it asks me to look for an encrypted file so I provide one of the encrypted .crypt files. Than it asks me to provide its original so I provide him with the original NOT encrypted file of the encrypted file from the first step that I managed to retreive from an email. But than it complains about the size as mentioned above.
tejas parekh (2 years ago)
+Gergana Ivanova No I have not tried it because it was keep asking me original file so I was clueless. Still searching for solution. Thanks
Gergana Ivanova (2 years ago)
+Michal Hrusecky RannohDecryptor is searching for and decrypt all files with .crypt extension that weight less than the original. Did you manage to restore some files?
Gergana Ivanova (2 years ago)
+tejas parekh We are searching for a solution and will reply you soon.
Michal Hrusecky (2 years ago)
+Gergana Ivanova I have the same version and was able to find one of the original files in send email but when I use it it says that the files have different file size. Any suggestions?
