"Buckskin Frank" Leslie - Billy Claiborne Gunfight - Tombstone Arizona
Recreation of gunfight at the Wyatt Earp Theater. On November 14, 1882, Leslie became involved in an argument with Billy Claiborne who, after the recent death of William Bonney, had demanded to be known as "Billy the Kid". A survivor of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, Claiborne claimed to have killed three men who had ridiculed him, but there is only evidence of Claiborne 's fight with Bill Hickey. After the O. K. Corral shootout, Claiborne's reputation suffered because he fled the scene.

Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday Original Guns - Museum Exclusive
Largest guns & ammo reference guide, gun value guide (like Blue Book) and gun schematics & blueprints: www.FirearmsGuide.com The name Wyatt Earp is synonymous with justice on the American frontier. Earp was a peace officer in various Western towns, including Dodge City, Kansas, and Tombstone in the Arizona Territory. He nevertheless found himself on the opposite side of the law on many occasions. Not surprisingly, Earp owned many firearms during his lifetime, including this Single Action Army. After his participation as a lawman in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, a thirty-second altercation that has come to symbolize the struggle between legal authority and banditry on the American frontier, Earp was charged with and subsequently found not guilty of murder. Earp's reputation was tarnished during his lifetime, but accounts of his Western exploits after his death revitalized his image. Today, he is remembered as an icon of the American West.

Mohawk Mine - Arizona - 2016
Corey and Jess stumbled upon this fantastic claim and instantly fell in love with it. The Mohawk claim has extremely good access and boasts one of the most complete living structures that you will find on an unpatented claim. While the access to the workings is a bit limited at the moment, it wouldn't take much to get this mine open again. A little hard work goes a long way, and come on, a true miner never shies away from hard work.
"Tombstone Arizona" The Town to Tough to Die pt.1
The most famous old west town in Arizona. Home to the shoot out at the 'OK Corral'. Even though the original shoot out didn't occur their. The Earp Brothers were the equivalent to the modern day NWO. They ran the town of Tombstone with a 'Iron Fist'. Imposed fines, jail rowdy town folks, made the laws. One of there laws was, 'No Gun Aloud in Town'. And the Shoot Out at the OK Corral. Was the Earp Brothers against. Un-armed local cowboys, called the 'Clayton Gang'. The Earp Brothers are not buried here. They were eventually chased out of town.

Between 1879 and 1900, the town of Tombstone, in the southeastern corner of Arizona Territory, played host to a remarkable range of Old West personalities, from Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday to Buckskin Frank Leslie and the prospector Edward Lawrence Schieffelin. While the town went through ups and downs and was nearly wiped from the map on more than one occasion, it has earned its nickname: "the Town Too Tough to Die."

April 6, 2012. I spent an afternoon in Oatman Arizona on historic route 66 (Oatman Hwy) about 28 miles from Kingman AZ. This town was founded a gold mining community in the very early 1900s. Just recently in 2008, the Gold Road Mine in the area was reopened for business, as gold prices are now quite high, making it profitable once again. It seems the town itself is thriving on tourism alone, most of whole Oatman Arizona downtown area is souvenir shops, antique shoppes, restaurants, etc. If you're through this way, off I-40 at Kingman AZ, you might want to take this trip into Oatman AZ. There's a gunfight (actors) in the street a couple times a day, like 12 noon and 2:15pm, something like that. There's a lot of wild donkeys (borros) that roam about town begging for food. There's one place I went into there in Oatman Arizona that I felt for sure is haunted (among other obvious haunted historic places nearby), a very strong presence there. I didn't include it among the video clips here.

Tombstone, Arizona, American Ghost Town, U.S.A. Famous Landmarks.
Tombstone, Arizona, American Ghost Town, U.S.A. Famous Landmarks. Tombstone is a historic western city in Cochise County, Arizona, United States, founded in 1879 by Ed Schieffelin in what was then Pima County, Arizona Territory. It was one of the last wide-open frontier boomtowns in the American Old West. The town prospered from about 1877 to 1890, during which time the town's mines produced US$40 to $85 million in silver bullion, the largest productive silver district in Arizona. Its population grew from 100 to around 14,000 in less than seven years. It is best known as the site of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and draws most of its revenue from tourism. The town was established on a mesa above the Tough Nut Mine. Within two years of its founding, although far distant from any other metropolitan city, Tombstone boasted a bowling alley, four churches, an ice house, a school, two banks, three newspapers, and an ice cream parlor, alongside 110 saloons, 14 gambling halls, and numerous dancing halls and brothels. All of these were situated among and on top of a large number of dirty, hardscrabble mines. The gentlemen and ladies of Tombstone attended operas presented by visiting acting troupes at the Schieffelin Hall opera house, while the miners and cowboys saw shows at the Bird Cage Theatre, "the wildest, wickedest night spot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast". Under the surface were tensions that grew into deadly conflict. The mining capitalists and townspeople were largely Republicans from the Northern states. Many of the ranchers in the area were Confederate sympathizers and Democrats. The booming city was only 30 miles (48 km) from the U.S.–Mexico border and was an open market for beef stolen from ranches in Sonora, Mexico, by a loosely organized band of outlaws known as The Cowboys. The Earp brothers—Virgil, Wyatt, Morgan and Warren—arrived in December 1879 and summer 1880. They had ongoing conflicts with Ike and Billy Clanton, Frank and Tom McLaury, and other Cowboys members. The Cowboys repeatedly threatened the Earps over many months until the conflict escalated into a confrontation that turned into a shootout, the now-famous Hollywood-ized Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The actual gun fight was on Fremont Street a block or 2 away from the O.K. Corral. In the mid-1880s, the silver mines penetrated the water table and the mining companies made significant investments in specialized pumps. A fire in 1886 destroyed the Grand Central hoist and pumping plant, and it was unprofitable to rebuild the costly pumps. The city nearly became a ghost town, only saved from that end because it was the Cochise County seat until 1929. The city's population dwindled to a low of 646 in 1910, but in 2010 the population was 1,380. It has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names Boothill Graveyard Tom McLaury, Frank McLaury, and Billy Clanton, killed in the O.K. Corral shootout, are among those buried in the town's Boothill Graveyard. Of the number of pioneer Boot Hill cemeteries in the Old West, so named because most of those buried in them had "died with their boots on", Boothill in Tombstone is one of the best-known Boot hill Cemetery - http://youtu.be/ZHbGtUv9NBw Bodie Ghost Town. - http://youtu.be/1XbKcwovqPQ All images are either in the Public Domain or on Google images labeled for reuse. O.K Corral | Famous Livery | Horse Stable | Tombstone | Arizona | USA
The O.K. Corral (Old Kindersley was a livery and horse corral from 1879 to about 1888 in the mining boomtown of Tombstone, Arizona Territory, in the southwestern United States near the border with Mexico. Despite its famous association with the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, the historic gunfight did not take place within or next to the corral on Allen Street, but in a narrow lot on Fremont Street, six doors west of the rear entrance to the corral. The lot was between Harwood's home and C. S. Fly's 12-room boarding house and photography studio. For a better Experience turn on Subtitles and translations. Old West Vignette: Charleston, AZ Cemetery - Gone & Forgotten
Charleston, AT actually earned the reputation that Tombstone had. Charleston existed for a brief, violent 10 years in Arizona Territory's history; its boom being between 1879 and 1889. It lingered on for years afterwards, however, mostly abandoned due to ore milling being moved to Tombstone instead of at the San Pedro river after Tombstone's mines flooded with more water than they knew what to do with. The site was later further damaged during WW2 training exercises and by squatters living amongst the ruins. The town site itself is hard to find, lost amongst crucifixion thorn, mesquite, and a river that's slowly eating away at it, but the cemetery is gone and forgotten. A lot of research and work was put into finding what's left of that forgotten cemetery and this video will give you a taste of the hike to it and a tour of that which does remain. Tumco, previously known as Hedges, was a small gold mining town at the edge of the Cargo Muchacho Mountains. Sasco Smelter AZ
The SASCO Smelter was built in 1906 and was open for business in 1907 to process copper ore from surrounding mines including the Silver Bell Mine. In 1912, the company filed bankruptcy and closed until ASARCO mining bought it and reopened the smelter. The town and it's workers were decimated during the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918 and the Silver Bell mine and Sasco smelter were closed in 1921. Only some free standing walls of the pub, the walls of the jail, the foundations of the smelter, chimney base and railroad trestles are left. The Sasco Cemetery is located northeast of the town site, next to the La Osa Ranch house. Sasco is a great place to go and explore but remember to take plenty of water and watch out for air soft marksmen.
