Minas de Riotinto. Reapertura / The Riotinto mine to reopen [IGEO.TV]
Green light to extract 123 million tonnes of copper, sulfur, gold and silver mine is believed that Rio Tinto (Huelva) still keeps in his gut. The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning considers reopening exploitation "environmentally viable," thus giving the penultimate step to grant signature Emed Tartessus Unified Environmental Authorisation, the permit meets all environmental procedures for prevention and control projects of this type. The developer has to meet more than 300 conditions for this to come true: water management and discharges to rivers Tinto and Odiel, management and tailings dams, respect biodiversity and air pollution and acoustics are the red lines of the reopening. Emed Tartessus subsidiary of EMED Mining, based in Cyprus, Australian policy and actions in the London Stock Exchange is required to control discharges to the river Tinto with a wastewater treatment plant and has to reduce diffuse pollution from old tailings by restoration program for the farm, and not the end, to minimize the acidic waters. Thus, the mining company not only has to deal with the polluting effects of their activities, but must repair the state in which the site was before its purchase in 2007. The population of the Cuenca Minera de Huelva, which has an unemployment rate of 50% among its 17,500 inhabitants, it takes several years eagerly anticipating a return to work the deposit.

Rio Tinto shelves iron ore project in Guinea
Global mining giant Rio Tinto has reportedly shelved a 20 billion dollar iron ore project in Guinea, following a sustained slump in the price of the metal. The miner had been seeking financing for the Simandou project, even after a one-point-one billion-dollar write-down in February. Last month Rio Tinto submitted a feasibility study to the Guinean government. But global oversupply of iron ore that has depressed prices has made the project not viable. Simandou would have comprised an iron ore mine in central Guinea, a railway and a deep-water port on the West African country's Atlantic Coast. At full production, the project would have generated about 7-point-5 billion dollars in revenue.

Mining Jobs TV is a FREE online TV channel presenting regular episodes where we will discuss mining jobs and tips that will help you to secure a job in the industry. Mining in Australia is a significant primary industry and major contributor to the Australian economy with many different ores and minerals are mined throughout the country. The good news is that the Australian mining industry employees people across a broad range of areas from unskilled labourers to mining engineers. There are also opportunities in administrative, human resources and management positions together with numerous trade related opportunities such as Trades Assistant, Boilermakers, Carpenters, Welders, Electricians and Plumbers. As you are probably aware mining jobs are achievable yet very competitive. It is not unusual for HR Managers to receive 500 or 1000 plus resumes for an advertised vacancy ... so it's most important to ensure you have the resume professionally worded and designed to stand out from your competitors. A talented Resume Writer will be skilled in selling your skills and wording the document in a way that includes all important key words. We highly recommended Mining Resumes to prepare your resume as they are the industry leaders in resume preparation for clients seeking jobs in the mining and oil & gas industry. They can be contacted on 1300 RESUME or have a look at their website miningresumes.com with package details and samples you look at. Many Australians want to know what type of entry level jobs are available in the mining industry that don't require a trade qualification. Both men and women are sought after by mining companies offering jobs such as Cleaner, Utilities, Trades Assistant, Service Crew, Catering, Kitchen Hand, Utilities and Laundry Work. Some of these jobs will require previous experience in areas such as cleaning, catering and hospitality but don't necessarily require previous experience working on mine sites. The main skills and attributes the mining companies are looking for include: - An understanding and commitment to workplace safety - Willingness to travel or work away from home for extended periods - Ability to complete additional courses or training - Strong work ethic and willingness to work 12 hour shifts - Flexible and adaptable approach to work - Capacity to work unsupervised and as part of a team - Punctual, reliable - High level of physical health and fitness - Willingness to undertake drug and alcohol testing as mine sites are focused on a high level of safety and you cannot be under the influence of these substances when working on site You may be wondering, how do I find out about these jobs? You can find the companies through Google Search or email us and we will happily provide an up to date list for you. 15,300 abandoned mines in QLD - Tax payers problem
big mining companies, like Rio Tinto, are cutting corners when it comes to the closing down of their hazardous mines. As a result of this, Queensland now has some 15,300 registered abandoned mines, sitting there. Which will now be the Queensland taxpayers responsibility to clean up, due to coal and mining companies finding ways to avoid and delay their land rehabilitation responsibilities.
