Goodfellow Crushers recently assisted Double D Mining with a plant redesign for their gypsum operation in Blythe, California. Because of the challenge of working with a lot of dust and a fine finished product, a standard FT4250 wasn't sufficient. Goodfellow custom fabricated a plant with additional screening/sorting capacity and a separate generator, which made it faster to get the finished product and made the generator last longer by reducing the likelihood that the radiator would plug up from the dust. If you have custom crushing needs, contact our engineering staff to discuss how we can help on your next project! www.goodfellowcrushers.com

There is no time like mining time - and #YouTubeGOLD is in full effect, firing on all cylinders. First I must get some pay dirt to the plant. This is a challenge as I live in the middle of the Alberta prairies - so I jump in my full size truck to head down to my sweet spot at the river. I load up on potential Gold and head back to the plant. When I arrive I see that Everett has joined us.. and is ready to hope in the Wheel Loader! "Sluice Box Steve" is also onsite - and ready to rip into the pay dirt with the excavator. I am running the Haul Truck & Bull Dozer today. Are we going to find Gold?! Possibly.. but the true secret of this show - is nothing you see is real. Everything is staged (well as much as we can plan when playing!), and though we are mining for real gold (yes it's real pay dirt), the true Gold is the experience we get as friends, what we hope the viewers get watching a couple of goofballs entertain you with some very cool toys. One mans hobby, is another's entertainment on YouTube! Now all I have to do is to continue learning how to sluice for Gold. We are all rookies, we have never mined before.. yet, I have always had a passion for Radio Control, and for finding Gold! "YouTube GOLD" is a #Parody series based around the GOLD Shows of TV that we all know and love. #GoldRush #YukonGold #BeringSeaGold all of these are shows that my family enjoy seeing! A lot of viewers ask me questions about the products I use in my videos, and I have learned to pass along this info in my video descriptions. I hope it helps if you are curious about my HD Equipment. I ordered all of my Heavy Duty Construction equipment distributed by a company called "RC4WD". Here is a link: https://store.rc4wd.com/Heavy-Machinery_c_154.html I am using the older style of excavator, the 870K wheel loader, the DXR2 Dozer, and the 797F Haul Truck. These machines are very impressive.. and VERY HEAVY! All metal, all around... True hydraulic systems that have ample power for your Radio control modelling needs. I have always known that making a GOLD MINE would be possible with RC models.. and finally I get to realize this dream - even if the scale is all 1/14th in size! This gold mine is one of those abandoned mines that didn’t look like much at first, but ended up being really interesting… Aside from the complexity of the underground workings we explored, we just kept finding stuff. Well, more accurately, I should say that my exploring buddy kept finding stuff. While I was inside the first adit looking around, Mr. McBride, discovered the lower adit and the buildings above the mine workings. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about the history of this mine. As with many things, California is behind other states in digitizing the records in their archives. By contrast, Nevada is fantastic in this respect. The Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology and the University of Nevada in Reno have done a really impressive job of digitizing and organizing their records online. So, for example, if you have the name of a mine, you can look through their database and find extensive records and maps for the mine you’re curious about. Obviously, not every historic mine is included in their database, but most are. Even without knowing the history though, it is apparent that this mine is an older mine that was worked off and on for quite a while. It also doesn’t seem to be a big stretch to assume that a respectable amount of gold was extracted. I’m basing that on the size of the workings and how the miners burrowed off in all directions from that quartz core where the pit was. They even went down and ran another adit in... Actually, as I was typing that, I realized that it may have been the other way around. If you’ll recall, the track in the lower adit was the “budget rail” where the miners nailed the metal strips onto boards to run the ore carts over. Since the track in the first adit I entered was solid metal rail, it would suggest the possibility that the miners may have done well enough in the lower adit to afford to splash out on expensive rail when driving a second adit above. In other words, the lower adit may have been the first adit. The mine buildings just above the underground workings were interesting to us given their age. The main building looked just large enough to accommodate a crew of approximately the size of the number of names on the board where the miners would badge in and badge out. It’s possible a mining crew could have worked this operation in the winter, but given its remote location, fairly poor dirt roads and heavy snowfall in the winter, it seems more likely this was a summer mining operation. Was that a grave at the end? What do you guys think that was? ***** All of these videos are uploaded in HD, so adjust those settings to ramp up the quality! It really does make a difference. You can see the gear that I use for mine exploring here: https://bit.ly/2wqcBDD You can click here for my full playlist of abandoned mines: https://goo.gl/TEKq9L Thanks for watching! ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that colorful niche of our history is gone forever. But, you know what? We enjoy doing it! This is exploring history firsthand – bushwhacking down steep canyons and over rough mountains, figuring out the techniques the miners used and the equipment they worked with, seeing the innovations they came up with, discovering lost mines that no one has been in for a century, wandering through ghost towns where the only sound is the wind... These journeys allow a feeling of connection to a time when the world was a very different place. And I’d love to think that in some small way we are paying tribute to those hardy miners that worked these mines before we were even born. So, yes, in short, we are adit addicts… I hope you’ll join us on these adventures! #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines #UndergroundMineExploring

Good news! We're on the precipice of the next great gold rush... but it won't be in the hills of California. Or anywhere on this planet. It'll be in outer space, as there are untapped rare materials in asteroids that could be used for future technologies. That's right: there's gold in them thar skies! Theoretical physicist and one of our favorite Big Thinkers, Dr. Michio Kaku, explains to us that while China might have a stranglehold on the rare minerals and metals on our planet, there's no stopping interplanetary mining. We've even got an actual plan with actual economics already in place... we just have to wait until NASA's SLS rocket technology fully develops. Michio Kaku's latest book is the awesome The Future of Humanity: Terraforming Mars, Interstellar Travel, Immortality, and Our Destiny Beyond Earth Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/michio-kaku-asteroid-mining-will-happen-sooner-than-you-think Follow Big Think here: YouTube: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript: When I was researching my book The Future of Humanity I came across a comment made by Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson made the biggest gamble of his life buying the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon. Napoleon was fighting the British he needed hard cash immediately. He had Louisiana and that whole middle portion of the United States and so Napoleon sold it to Thomas Jefferson for a song. But Thomas Jefferson thought how long would it take to investigate what he had just purchased? He had doubled the size of the USA. Think about that. And he probably violated the Constitution in the process. Everyone forgets that. Everyone glosses over that fact, but hey when Louis and Clark went into the territories that comprised the Louisiana Purchase they found tremendous prospects for wealth and prosperity, but Thomas Jefferson wrote that it may take a thousand years, a thousand years before they could then begin to settle the west. Well, how long did it take? A few decades because what happened? Gold. Gold was discovered in California sparking the gold rush and within just a few years millions of prospectors, settlers, fortune hunters converged on California. It didn’t take a thousand years to develop that. Then the question now is is there going to be a new gold rush in outer space? Some people think so. Some Google billionaires have created an organization, a company, Planetary Resources, that are looking into prospecting in the asteroid belt. Now, asteroids come in all shapes and sizes and we’re cataloging them now and we have already found some perspective asteroids that could be mined. One asteroid perhaps maybe 30/50 feet across brought back down either to the moon or to the planet earth could in fact yield billions of dollars in rewards because of the rare earths and the platinum type medals that you find inside. You see, the electronics industry is dependent upon rare earths. Where are these rare earth elements found it? Mainly in China. They’re everywhere, of course, but China has the most developed market and the Chinese in turn supply on the order of 90 percent of the rare earths. Well, a few years ago they decided to capitalize that and raise the price. All of a sudden shockwaves, shockwaves spread around the earth because people realized that oh my God China has a stranglehold, a stranglehold on high technology. How can you build the next iPhone if you don’t have the rare earths to make the transistors and to make the delicate components of these high tech devices? So I think what’s happening here is that some people see an area for profit and that is asteroid mining. Now of course, the infrastructure for that doesn’t exist, but NASA has looked at its budget and does have a program that has been shelved temporarily to redirect an asteroid. The Asteroid Redirect Program is to send of the SL ass booster rocket into outer space with the Orion capsule. It will then intercept an asteroid and bring it back to orbit around the moon. Then it can be mined as it orbits around the moon or as it’s brought back to planet earth. And so this is now beyond the phase of science fiction. We’re no longer talking about dreaming about an asteroid redirect, we’re talking about an actual plan with the economics, with the details laid out. However, at the present time we have to wait for NASA’s SLS rocket to mature to the point where we can intercept an asteroid.

In this episode of #YouTubeGold we are building a water system for the 1/14th scale SHAKER PLANT for my Gold Mine. Of course, in true Gold TV style.. not everything goes to plan.. and we learn a lot of lessons. Steve is a buddy of mine from many years ago who has recently delved into the hobby of radio control and has taken a special interest in the RCSparks Gold mining operation. If you have missed the first two episodes, I suggest checking them out before you continue in this video. Eps. 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y10yjvP2mSg Eps. 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT_dxY9AO7Y **Side Note: I got the Shaker at www.RCModelDesign.com, and it is a partial kit with CNC-cut pieces that are assembled by the builder. The SHAKER does not come with a watering system..and we thought we would tackle it today. The point of a wash system is to clean the rocks, and dirt that is processed through the top of the shaker, removing any GOLD and washing into a sluice box. WE HAVE NEVER GOLD MiNED BEFORE .. if you can't tell, HAH! In fact, we are just bumbling along having fun with two cool hobbies.. bringing them together in a parody mini series - in tribute to the GOLD shows that are all over the TV Networks. We have been watching them for years.. and me, quite avidly. After testing and reviewing the footage - there were many things I would change about the setup. 1) Close off some of the open piping with valves to make the pump area smaller 2) Have a Recirculating option, so I can have continuous flow of water without the fear of running out 3) Adjust the nozzles to be more of an even spray (Replace the Nozzles with Metal - to INCREASE Pressure!) 4) Move the Top Spray Bars higher up the wash plant. (so it washes dirt dumped from the bucket, right at the very top of the shaker) 5) We may need a higher flow Pump. 800 gph does not seem to be enough to run all three spray bars. But, with tweaks, and dialling it in - it may be enough water flow 6) I need to raise the sluice box for more of an angle Many moments in this film reminded me of the Gold shows on TV.. and I felt a lot like Todd Hoffman. Me, depending on a build to work out, feeling all good about it.. and then... disaster! then .. you fix it.. then another disaster...!UGH! Whats up with my EXCAVATOR?! First Bucket Curl?! Haha.. Go figure. So much work to do, and I haven't moved any Gold Rich Pay Dirt! Soon... Beginning with the Gold Rush era, the legacy of mining activity in California remains in water systems today. Hydraulic mining practices caused massive amounts of sediment and mercury to enter the vast network of streams and rivers that feed into San Francisco Bay. Mercury continues to pollute the watershed, making many fish toxic to consume. Welcome to #YouTubeGold. This is a new parody / spinoff series that celebrates the great technological advances of Radio Control vehicles - and the excitement of running a Gold Mine. For years I have been a viewer of shows such as "#Yukon Gold", "#Gold Rush", "Bering Sea Gold" and other Discovery Network / History Channel shows that have to do with mining. I have dabbled in both "hobbies" and have already filmed previous "gold mining" videos here on my channel over the years. But in 2018, I think it is time to step up my game and expand a family run business. I was thinking about starting small... Real small. In fact, 1/14th in scale. I have been saving up for new Radio Controlled (RC) mining equipment, and already have a slew of older equipment which you will see in this film. The new stuff is finally starting to arrive - and is my list of new, hand picked equipment is promised to leave you amazed and astounded at what is available in the hobby world. I would like to mention, I live in Canada. My mining season is short.. but should be fun for a rookie. First on my list to assemble is the new Shaker (soon to be WASH) Plant. After purchasing on the website this model was shipped to me from Vietnam, where I assume these models are made. I do not have much information on the unit maker, but this is the website I got it from: https://rcmodeldesign.com/ Email: [email protected] FB: https: //www.facebook.com/loc.nam.338 The shipping was within 2 weeks for me and my shaker came already 1/2 assembled, and in a wooden crate. Everything is in tact, and working as promised! I believe this unit is hand made, as you can see different imperfections in the model.. but nothing that is detrimental to the unit. It is VERY nice.. and the subtle hand made touches make this soon-to-be wash plant a very nice trophy piece for any gold catching crew! Since it is made out of sheet metal.. I know the edges will start to rust.. and I am SO EXCiTED for that! It will look amazing.. but until then, I will have to settle with a great power coat white. I'm not sure why it has the word "Trommel" on it.. and wonder if it is a translation mistake. The website lists it as a Shaker. First I assemble the shaker, then its time to take it outdoors to test it out.. Tell me in the comment section.. what do you think?! This is only one piece of the new equipment I have to assemble, discover.. and to learn to dig with. I hope you are subscribed and notified of our new films.. if you want to follow along. Next.. we get into whats in the BOX! The box, I showed in the film you are watching now.. In the mean time I will work on a water system for my Shaker and Sluice Box. A simple PVC Setup with some jets, hooked into a pump should work great for washing the rocks we pull from future creek beds with the excavator. Richards Mining have been serving the alluvial mining industry for over 50 years originally specialising in components for dredges including trommels, trommel screen plates, winches, ladder rollers etc In 1955 Richards signed a licensing agreement with the Yuba-Manufacturing Company of California USA, and subsequently supplied Yuba-Richards Mineral Jigs throughout the world, recovering a wide variety of minerals. A further development was the introduction of complete mobile concentration plants incorporating the Yuba-Richards jig for alluvial mining, particularly for the recovery of gold, diamonds and cassiterite.

From the Berkeley Mine Pit, to the dirtiest pesticide plant in the world, these are 10 TOXIC Abandoned Places Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 7. Wittenoom, Australia 6. The Berkeley Pit 5. Europe’s Abandoned Cooling Towers A man by the name of Reginald Van de Velde had the opportunity to explore the imposing man made industrial structures from what’s left over of nuclear power plants. Despite the controversy that comes with nuclear power, these are well-made modern marvels of architecture and he got a rare chance to go inside a few before they were demolished. In this photo we see the inside view of a cooling tower scheduled for maintenance in France. Vegetation at the bottom of this abandoned cooling tower in Belgium has began to grow even if it was once covered in toxic radioactive water at some point. He claims that no two cooling towers are the same and and this shot also from belgium gives you an idea how massive some of these structures are. The five cooling towers make up a huge part of the skyline in this countryside of the UK and are the only thing that remains of a nuclear plant that was destroyed 4. Mailuu-Suu Mine Located in the country of Kyrgyzstan, this is seriously one of the most toxic places on earth and it’s also abandoned! During the time when the Soviet Union occupied this country, the region of Mailuu-Suu had a resource that was desperately sought after. Uranium ore. Uranium was a key element in winning the cold war in order to produce nuclear submarines, power plants of and course weapons of mass destruction This mines here produced a whopping 10,000 metric tons of this resource from 1946-1968. They weren’t meant to withstand some forces of mother nature and in 1994 the mine flooded and caused a mudslide to spew uranium all over the place! They only people you might find walking around the abandoned mine here, are those who try to salvage uranium to sold on the black market. 3. New Idria, California This toxic ghost town in San Benito County, California is named after the New Idria Mercury mine. The town was settled in 1854 when pioneers began coming across cinnabar, gold and mercury. The discovery of Mercury was important for gold mining and this happened during a time when gold mining was sweeping through Northern California. The mercury is used to extract gold from gold ore and it results in a much purer gold. It became an important mining location up until the mine closed in 1972 and people began to realize how toxic mercury truly was. Elevated levels of mercury were found in the cities water supply and not only that, but the nearby hills also have been found with asbestos, making this place toxic on many different levels. 2. Kalachi, Kazakhstan The town of Kalachi Kazakhstan isn’t 100 percent abandoned just yet but it might as well be. More and more villagers leave here each day and some claim the government is forcing them too. Recently gold was found in this area and villagers believe they are becoming ill from a toxic gas used by the government in order to build the gold mine here. The city is left in ruins and everyone appears to be quite ill! There used to be a population of about 6000 people but now just a few hang onto life at this soon to be toxic ghost town. The statue you see here is in a town nearby that’s been abandoned and it looks like Kalachi will suffer the same fate. No one rides the swings or plays on the jungle gym outside anymore. Others believe uranium mines nearby are causing the strange illnesses. 1. Bhopal Pesticide Plant We’ve heard of the tragedies that Chernobyl has brought to the area in the Ukraine in some previous videos but the in all actuality the Bhopal incident was much more devastating. A pesticide factory owned by a US corporation in the heavily populated area of India was found to be leaking a large amount of cyanide into the air of the city of Bhopal. This caused 5,295 people to lose their lives but many claim the number is much higher and more like 25,000! This poison gas factory is now abandoned and it certainly is still toxic! To what degree exactly is unsure, but many believe their is a huge amount of toxic waste underground. Some daring urban explorers decided to visit that plant and came across some dusty bottles with chemicals still unopened! The rusting chemical plant itself will prove to be an environmental issue itself if it’s not carefully demolished

We found some amazing gold running 20 buckets of dirt through the wash plant. The square bucket shovel made the digging easy and the scrub brush was the ticket for washing off the rocks. Most of the gold was caught in the gold hog mats in the hopper.

Find more info at www.groasis.com. In 2012, Groasis implemented an ecosystem restoration project of an open mine dump. It is an open mine landfill of a slate mine in Abejera de Tábara, near Zamora, Spain. The trees are planted with the biodegradable bio-plastic Waterboxx® plant cocoon. The waste of the mine is poured on a huge mountain. A layer of 1 meter of soil mixed with stones is applied to this. The trees were planted with the biodegradable Waterboxx® plant cocoon in 2012. Unlike the 10-time reusable green-white Waterboxx®, the biodegradable Waterboxx® has a camouflage sandy colour. The trees have had water once during planting. The Waterboxxes work great. They have been catching morning dew and rain already for 5 consecutive years. The water is stored in the Waterboxx®, in such a way that it cannot evaporate, and is slowly released to the tree. Over 60% of the trees grow amazing. In this way, we can restore all open mine landfills, very cheaply, in their original natural state. --- Encuentre más información en www.groasis.com/es. At the controls of his excavator, he digs down through ancient layers, hoping to reach the precious bitumen beneath. But when his bucket strikes something hard, he makes a find that’s actually far, far more valuable. On March 21, 2011, Funk was on duty at Millennium Mine, a facility near Fort McMurray in Alberta, Canada. Operated by Canadian energy company Suncor, the mine is one of several built to capitalize on the deposits in the Athabasca oil sands. Covering some 54,000 square miles around Fort McMurray, these sands contain bitumen – effectively, extra-heavy oil. The deposits are made of the remains of animals and plants that lived over 100 million years ago. Under steady heat and intense pressure, these remains have been converted into bitumen. But to Funk and his colleagues, the deposits of course bear little resemblance to the incredible creatures they once were. Anyhow, early in the afternoon of that day something spectacular would happen. After spending hours digging for bitumen, the bucket of Funk’s excavator struck something solid under the earth. Then, as he watched, a series of strangely colored objects fell out onto the ground below. Funk therefore grabbed his supervisor, Mike Gratton, and the pair began to investigate what he had found. Picking up one of the lumps, they turned it over to reveal a bizarre pattern. Set into the gray rock was a series of brown circles, arranged neatly in rows. Funk and Gratton had no idea what they were looking at, though. Were the shapes just peculiar pieces of fossilized wood – or could they be something else entirely? The pair quickly realized that they needed to get an expert in to take a look at their discovery, so they duly contacted the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta. Opened in 1985, the museum is a hub of research in an area that has seen hundreds of dinosaur fossils discovered over the years. Soon, then, curator Donald Henderson and museum technician Darren Tanke were on a plane headed for Fort McMurray. And when they arrived, they realized that it wasn’t just a pile of strange rocks that Funk had stumbled upon. In fact, it would turn out to be one of the most fascinating dinosaur fossils that they had ever discovered. The process of removing the fossils from Millennium Mine was, though, a long and arduous one. For many hours, the teams from Suncor and the museum worked away until the rock was whittled down to a single 15,000-pound piece. Then they prepared to lift it out of the mine. However, disaster struck. The fossil was too fragile to bear its own weight, and it broke into several pieces in mid-air. So while Henderson and Tanke were desperate to get the dinosaur remains back to the museum, they also didn’t want to damage the amazing find further. Eventually, then, the broken sections were encased in plaster of Paris and transported to Drumheller, some 420 miles away – and fortunately without further incident. Finally safe at the museum, the discovery was handed over to Mark Mitchell, a fossil preparer. And over the next five years Mitchell would spend some 7,000 hours painstakingly preparing the fossil for it to take center stage in a new exhibition. As he worked, meanwhile, researchers were able to take a closer look at the fascinating find. ************************************************************** ►Image credits: Image: Robert Clark/National Geographic https://goo.gl/CU5LnK Image: Beautiful Destruction https://goo.gl/Bht1Em Image: TastyCakes https://goo.gl/pP7uYY Image: Howl Arts Collective https://goo.gl/EJAoGo Image: National Geographic https://goo.gl/N7W6LE Image: Yetiwriter https://goo.gl/RMHEUw Image: Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo Image: Royal Tyrrell Museum via MailOnline Image: R Lull https://goo.gl/iQ7aZp mage: Instagram/royaltyrrell https://goo.gl/F5UYCY Image: Facebook/Priti Obhrai-Martin https://goo.gl/AJkA8y Image: Machairo https://goo.gl/xoj2nM ►web: http://watchjojo.com ► SUBSCRIBE US: https://goo.gl/Z4nZcg ► Follow Us On Google Plus: https://goo.gl/JYf9Rr ► Like us Our Facebook Page: https://goo.gl/C5Rv92 ► Follow On Twitter: https://goo.gl/PZ2U1R ►For more articles visit: http://scribol.com ►reference:https://goo.gl/hZYsSA #watchjojo

Part 1 of 2: Wash plant on private property right on historic Lynx Creek in Prescott AZ. The material was excavated from the acient river channel that was not worked during the dredging period in the early 1900's. We found the deadhead (concrete anchor for the dredge cable while excavating. The material was screend for large overburden and then run through a prototpye wash plant. A 5hp pump supplied all the water for the process! This wash plant is now in northern CA ready to work some bar material on the Klamath. Take for this first test run (2hr) was almost 1 ounce! We took some good gold from this small area of private frontage on Lynx Creek.

The cold weather is moving in. Our days on the mine site are coming to a close, and we NEED TO MOVE the Remaining PAY DIRT. All of our stockpiled pay is at risk of freezing, and not being processed. We simply can not leave it after spending all the time, money & effort it took to strip and transport. These guys know that the ice is getting thicker, and that GO TIME, is NOW. The machinery we are using is hydraulic, and the low temperatures is definitely affecting their performance. The machines have small hydro lines, and when it drops below zero.. and the machine sits for a few minutes - the oil thickens up. So, best way to get all of this work done, is NOT TO STOP! Of course - you are watching a parody - our own version of the popular Network TV GOLD mining shows we all watch and enjoy. This is not actually a TV show, and we are just 4 friends that enjoy the hobby of "Radio Control". Some popular viewer questions from the series: 1) Is it real Gold? Answer: YES We know that some of the viewers will be wondering about the models we used in this film - so here is some information RC4WD - www.store.rc4wd.com is a popular site that sells heavy duty construction equipment. Our excavators are the older model, Earth Digger 4200XL. There are newer versions available The Wheel loader is called the "Earth Mover", and the Dozer is the DXR2. Rookie and I spoke about a Motor and Transmission upgrade for the 4200XL - here is the link to the Facebook page, I mentioned: https://www.facebook.com/rclastebilbutikk1/ The true secret of this show - is nothing you see is real.
