2014 has seen the biggest change in Vampire so far. On the 15/12/2014 ’Identity Switch’ will be released which is the brand new Vampire Digital Album. Hitting the streets with a new Logo and Vision this next installment is bound to make waves on The Drum and Bass scene with tracks from Phil Source, Strago, Kolectiv, Heavy1, Physics, DJ Trax, Soulstructure and Tim Cant, Nusense and Concealed Identity just to name a few.
The Album starts of with tracks from Nusense, Konfront Audio and Scale that fit in with today’s sound but take influence from the late 90’s Tech Rolling vibe. This Era of Drum and Bass was very important to how the sound is today for a lot of Producers and Listeners. The big drops, grimey bass lines and eerie sounds get this LP off to the perfect start.
You are then flipped into a spin with H. Shiratori and Heavy1 as they bring their futuristic Japanese vibes to change the mindset and journey of the Album. The different rhythms and sounds they have used on these tracks are just how Vampire wants to evolve and continue to do so. Watch out for these guys in the future!
We then enter a new faze for Vampire with tracks from Level, Phil Source and Strago feat Marishka. Using differing Tempo’s and Styles, these tracks move away from the usual 170 bpm plus music Vampire is known for. Once again evolution is clear to see as Level brings a heavy Eastern European vibe using Dubstep and Techno influences. Phil Source and Strago take us almost into a Hardcore Era from the early 90’s. Fusing Old School breaks and Female vocals from Marishka (a Lebanese Pop Star) the heavy stab noises and 808 bass lines make it a Dance floor Killer!
Scale’s ‘Designer Drug’ takes us back into Drum and Bass mode with a track that reminds you of The Famous Metalheadz parties at The Blue Note, Hoxton Square and this vibe continues through the next couple of tracks.
The Mid Section of the LP goes through all of the different styles of Drum and Bass. From Old to New, Light to Dark ‘Identity Switch’ really does continue on the Deep Mystical Journey that Vampire has been on Since it’s birth in 2006.
Highlights here would be Soulstructure and Tim Cant’s ‘Senses’ which has had lots of Airplay on both Radio and on The Dancefloor and Inztance’s ‘He Knows Me’ which both featured on The First Album Single with Concealed Identity’s ‘Shadow Warrior’ and Mindstorm’s ‘Deception Point’.
Concealed Identity, Skru, Kyam, Nultiply, None Decay and Kolectiv all new artists to Vampire continue The High Standard of Drum and Bass from Old School Breaks to Modern Steppers to bring the Album to it’s finale.
Dj Trax’s ‘Who’s your Connection?’ features the first Video ever made for Vampire. With it’s 70’s funk vibe this track gives us something that stands out from the crowd and something that has been missing from Drum and Bass over the past few years. This track will also work the Dance Floor very well.
Voodocoder feat Monika Emat’s ‘Impulse’ brings us down in Tempo with a Dubstep vibe from The Eastern European Duo. Monika;s mystical Vocals r
