Crippled Inside with Lyrics John Lennon High Quality Audio

03:49
"Crippled Inside" is a song written and performed by John Lennon from his 1971 album Imagine. The song combines the bleak lyrical content of Lennon's prior solo recording, John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, with the more upbeat musical arrangements typical to the rest of Imagine. Lennon would later express his displeasure with the more commercial sound of the album, even going so far as to say that the title track was "an anti-religious, anti-nationalistic, anti-conventional, anti-capitalistic song, but because it's sugar-coated, it's accepted." The song is also noticeably influenced by country music, becoming Lennon's own spin on country rock, which he dabbled in both as a Beatle and later in his solo career. While still with The Beatles, John Lennon recorded a song, now a bootleg called "Long Lost John", in which he jams with the rest of the band. At about 5:45 into the track, the song they play sounds the same as "Crippled Inside" but has different lyrics. Paul McCartney sings harmony vocals on the song, George Harrison adds some words, and Ringo Starr is on drums. At the very end of the track they play a slow version of "Run for Your Life". John Lennon's fellow former Beatle George Harrison plays dobro on the song, with Klaus Voormann (a longtime friend of the Beatles and designer of the cover for their Revolver album) on upright bass. Jam band Widespread Panic covered the song a number of times during their Summer 2007 Tour, with the band contributing a version to the benefit album Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur. You can shine your shoes and wear a suit You can comb your hair and look quite cute You can hide your face behind a smile One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside You can wear a mask and paint your face You can call yourself the human race You can wear a collar and a tie One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside Well now you know that your Cat has nine lives Nine lives to itself But you only got one And a dog's life ain't fun Mamma take a look outside You can go to church and sing a hymn You can judge me by the color of my skin You can live a lie until you die One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside Well now you know that your Cat has nine lives Nine lives to itself But you only got one And a dog's life ain't fun Mamma take a look outside You can go to church and sing a hymn You can judge me by the color of my skin You can live a lie until you die One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside One thing you can't hide Is when you're crippled inside

Crippled Inside (Evolution Mix)

For an enhanced narrative, turn on the subtitles. Preorder Imagine The Ultimate Collection at Amazon http://bit.ly/JL-UM-Am The Evolution Documentary reveals the story of the development of the songs on the Imagine album and, on Blu-ray 2 only, the five extra non-album tracks. Sam Gannon (engineer): Each montage chronicles how a song developed from its embryonic form and then evolved as it was recorded in the studio. In our search for bonus material, we listened to demos, all the takes from the one-inch multitrack tapes, and quarter-inch reels recorded in May 1971 by the film crew documenting the sessions at the studio in Ascot. We discovered many moments that, although not long enough to be bonus tracks by themselves, when blended together would help tell the story of each song. The Evolution Mixes are intended to provide an insight into the way that John & Yoko, Phil Spector and the Plastic Ono Band collaborated both inside and outside of the studio environment. By listening to each Evolution Mix, it is hoped a deeper understanding will be gained about the way the songs were crafted. Find out more: http://imaginejohnyoko.com

Gimme Some Truth (Ultimate Mix) - lyric video

03:19
Get the Audio: http://bit.ly/imagine-ult Get the Book: http://bit.ly/imaginejohnyoko Get the BluRay/DVD: http://bit.ly/ImagineGST-Amazon ⬇⬇⬇ABOUT GIMME SOME TRUTH⬇⬇⬇ John: Side Two starts with “Give Me Some Truth” which is one I started a year or two back - probably in India. We wrote a lot there. It was an old lick that I had around a long time but I again changed the lyrics. I like the track because it sounds good but it didn’t get much attention, so it’s a personal track that I like the sound of. The guitars are good and the voice sounds nice and, you know, and it says whatever it says. George does a sharp solo with his steel finger (he’s not to proud of it - but I like it). It’s about politicians, newspaper men and all the hypocrites of the world. And male chauvinists, it’s about them too. I think that music reflects the state that the society is in. There is nothing to hide. Not really. I mean, we all like to shit in private and we certainly have things we prefer to do in private, privately. But in general what is there to hide? I mean, what is the big secret? I think it’s like this whole game of the press. When the whole drug thing came out about the Beatles, what actually happened was the press cornered Paul one day with the TV cameras and all the press and asked him, “have you taken LSD?” And he said “yes”. And they said, “don’t you think that you have a responsibility to society?” And he said, “yes I do, and so do you, so please don’t publish this or print it.” And they had it on every newscast that night with him saying, “please dont publish it.” Now what the hypocrisy of the press is like, what I was saying about the News Of The World is they’re always going on about other people’s responsibilities and pop stars selling sex to people when they’re the ones keeping the whole mill rolling. They have as much responsibility as us so called ‘stars’ and that was a prime example. There was a famous picture of me in one of the Beatle Books and it said, ‘No phoney politician is ever going to get through to me.” That still stands, although I dabbled in so called “politics” in the late 60’s and 70’s. More out of guilt for being rich and guilty, thinking that maybe perhaps love and peace isn’t enough, that to have to go and get shot or something, or get punched in the face, to prove I’m one of the people. I think our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. And I think that’s what I sussed when I was 16 and 12, way down the line. But I expressed it differently all through my life. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends. If anybody can put on paper what our government and the American government etcetera and the Russian, Chinese - what they are actually trying to do, and what they think they’re doing, I’d be very pleased to know what they think they’re doing. I think they’re all insane but I’m liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what’s insane about it. Somebody comes along with a good piece of truth and instead of the truth being looked at, they look at the person that brought it. It’s like when the bad news comes, they shoot the messenger. When the good news comes, they worship the messenger and they don’t listen to the message - whether it be Christianity, Mohammadism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Marxism, Maoism, everything. It’s always about the person and never about what they said. My function in society is to be an artist. The artist’s function is to be as true to himself (and therefore the people he communicates with through his art) as he can, and survive. Art is a functional part of society. If you don’t have artists, you don’t have society. We’re not some kind of decadent strip show that appears on the side. We’re as important as prime ministers or policemen. Register to Vote. If you register to vote, it doesn’t mean you have to vote. At least you have it. And then if there’s somebody around that you can believe in, you’ve got that vote. But if you don’t register and it comes, and you wanna do something, you’ve missed it. Because there’s one inch in which we breathe differently between the two parties. And everybody’s saying they’re all the same. They are all the same, but there’s one inch in which they let you breathe. Find out more: http://imaginejohnyoko.com

John Lennon Instant Karma! with Lyrics Highest Quality Audio Karma

03:26
It's up to you--yeah you. Instant Karma! is a song written by John Lennon, released as a single in 1970 by John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and the Plastic Ono Band on Apple Records, catalogue Apples 1003 in the UK, Apple 1818 in the US. It is the third solo single issued by Lennon, and it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 on Canada's Singles Chart and #5 on the British singles chart. The song's first appearance on album was the 1975 compilation Shaved Fish. In the U.S., the song peaked at #3 as The Beatles' single Let It Be was rising to #1. With both songs competing for position in the Top 3, the Beatles officially announced their dissolution. It ranks as one of the fastest-released songs in pop music history, recorded at London's Abbey Road Studios the same day it was written, and arriving in stores only ten days later. Lennon remarked to the press, he "wrote it for breakfast, recorded it for lunch, and we're putting it out for dinner." The record was produced by Phil Spector, the first of many recordings by the Beatles that Spector worked on that year. The track features a version of the ever-changing Plastic Ono Band: Lennon on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and electric piano, Billy Preston on grand piano, George Harrison on electric guitar and backing vocals, Klaus Voorman on bass guitar and backing vocals, Alan White on drums, Yoko Ono on backing vocals, Beatles assistant Mal Evans on chimes and handclaps, Beatles then-manager Allen Klein and a dozen or so late-night pub revellers from Hatchetts Pub on overdubbed backing vocals. Backed by Ono's "Who Has Seen the Wind?," which Lennon produced, the pair appeared on Top of the Pops to perform the song live. Harrison would later remark that he was enticed and interested by Lennon's idea of an instant single release, and this partially contributed to Harrison's willingness to participate. Harrison felt that it related in some way to his devotion to the Hindu religion (karma) and he therefore felt Lennon could use the single to promote it. The single was released with a standard green Apple label, with the words "Play Loud" printed above and beneath the spindle. The B-side label, by contrast, carried the words "Play Soft." The song is one of three Lennon solo songs, along with "Imagine" and "Give Peace a Chance", in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. How Do You Sleep by John Lennon - Remixed & Remastered

05:35
"How Do You Sleep?" is a song from John Lennon's 1971 album Imagine, which is an attack aimed at his former Beatles songwriting partner and close friend Paul McCartney. The song features a slide guitar part played by George Harrison. The song's lyrics refer to the Paul is dead conspiracy theory ("Those freaks was right when they said you was dead"). The song begins with the words, "So Sergeant Pepper took you by surprise", referring to the landmark album that the Beatles made. Preceding this first line are ambient sounds evocative of those heard at the beginning of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album. The lyrics "The only thing you done was yesterday/And since you've gone you're just another day" are direct shots at Paul McCartney as well, the first lyric being a reference to the Beatles' 1965 song "Yesterday", McCartney's most popular song and technically the first Beatles' "solo" track because no other Beatle was involved in the recording. In the "Imagine" film, (with George Harrison playing alongside Lennon) an obvious upset Lennon sings "How do you sleep you cunt? before he asks for cut... The second lyric could be considered a reference to McCartney's hit single "Another Day", released earlier in 1971. Lennon initially penned the lyrics "You probably stole that bitch anyway" as a reference to the many times McCartney himself had made claims that he wasn't sure if he "nicked" it, and asked Lennon, Harrison, Martin and others if they heard that song before. Although Lennon receives the sole credit as the song's author, multiple reports indicate that Ono as well as Allen Klein, John's manager, also contributed lyrics. In addition to George Harrison on slide guitar, the song featured Lennon on piano and vocals, Klaus Voormann on bass, Alan White on drums, acoustic guitar played by Ted Turner, Rod Linton, and Andy Davis, as well as additional piano parts by Nicky Hopkins and John Tout (Hopkins likely contributing electric piano, as he had done previously on the Beatles "Revolution"). Lennon felt attacked by McCartney, who later admitted that lines in the song "Too Many People" on the album Ram were intended as digs at Lennon (Lennon thought that other songs on the album, such as "3 Legs," contained similar attacks). Ringo Starr visited the studio during the recording of the song and was reportedly upset, saying: "That's enough, John." Lennon and McCartney later reconciled.
