Compile Bitcoin's source code (0.13)

06:12
This short video shows how to compile the bitcoin source code on linux (ubunu). an easy task to do but it take some time (around 15 min) please read the instruction in the official github https://github.com/bellaj/bitcoin/blob/master/doc/build-unix.md in the video i am compiling the version 0.13 Note: you could choose which version to use by typing "get tag" to show you all the released versions of bitcoin then "git checkout v0.**" if you need the version 0.**. If you choose an old version please read the documentation (doc/build-unix.md )in order to install to suit dependencies. when the process finish you get your bitcoind (server) and bitcoin-qt (client). Note : If these prerequisites are missing, the build process will fail.If this happens because you missed a prerequisite, you can install it and then resume the build process. to customize the build process. Type ./configure --help to see the various options: $ ./configure --help `configure' configures Bitcoin Core 0.** to adapt to many kinds of systems. Usage: ./configure [OPTION]... [VAR=VALUE]...

Bitcoin GitHub History Visualization - Multiple Projects (Jan 2015)

05:52
To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email [email protected] As always, this video was created with the open-source version control visualization software Gource (http://code.google.com/p/gource/). This time, though, I decided that annotations were old hat and none of that information has changed anyway. This time I wanted to give a grander overview of the Bitcoin development ecosystem. To that end, this video includes visualizations of Bitcoin Core, Trezor, Armory, Electrum, Schildbach's Android Wallet and Mycelium - all on the same time scale. Now we can see a bigger picture of Bitcoin's development history. Once again, I used the open-source version control visualization software Gource (http://code.google.com/p/gource/) to visualize the history of Bitcoin from day 1 to present. This is similar to the last video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OztVYT... - but up to date and with different (I think better) music. The system is peer-to-peer, and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary, These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Since the system works without a central repository or single administrator, bitcoin is called the first decentralized digital currency. As of February 2017, over 100,000 merchants and vendors accepted bitcoin as payment. Pay for your travel on expedia , buy a computer on dell.com, or buy a sofa at overstock.com. According to research produced by Cambridge University in 2017, there are 2.9 to 5.8 million unique users using a cryptocurrency wallet, most of them using bitcoin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Music Licences: Fortaleza by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena Creative Commons — Attribution 3.0 Unported— CC BY 3.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... How to install virt manager on OSX to manage KVM virtual machines

09:17
This is a tutorial showing you how to install virt manager on OSX to be used to manage KVM virtual machines from your mac. Also how to have it lauch from the dock. If you like my videos and would like to support the channel your donations are greatly appreciated https://goo.gl/dw6ML Commands etc used in this video Install Jeffery Wildmans Repository brew tap jeffreywildman/homebrew-virt-manager install virt manager with virt viewer brew install virt-manager virt-viewer install xquartz brew cask install xquartz run virt manager virt-manager --no-fork fix no module named git https://www.dropbox.com/s/3fpv7t6loebk73o/fix%20no%20module%20named%20git%20.txt?dl=0 dropbox link for laucher https://www.dropbox.com/s/2qwcqtnl66alu1c/virt-manager.zip?dl=0 edit libvirtd.conf nano /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf Note. If using unRAID as your hypervisor make sure you have nerd tools installed with netcat-openbsd enabled This is how to use ssh with unRAID and virt manager. We need libbsd and netcat-openbsd to be installed on unraid. To get netcat-openbsd we can use the nerd tools pack which you can download through community applications. The libbds download the package from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1lqoxd1tb5f5gt/libbsd.txz?dl=0 Go to your flash drive and put this in the extra folder (create it if it doesn't exist) Now when you reboot unraid will load libbsd each time the server is started To use straight away ssh into the server and run installpkg /boot/extra/libbsd.txz Now you cant just setup the ssh from in virt manager connection. We have to do this from command line like this on your mac open terminal and run the following virt-manager -c qemu+ssh://[email protected]/system?socket=/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock --no-fork (please note the [email protected] part replace that with name or IP of your server eg [email protected]) Once this has been run once virt manager will remember the connection. How to start mining Vertcoin with AMD cards on Linux

06:56
We want to thank IoneSilentWolf for creating this video that shows how you can mine Vertcoin using AMD GPUs, on Linux. In the video ubuntu 16.04 LTS is used along with amdgpu 18.20 drivers.ROCM isn't used since it only supports polaris, vega cards atm. Generating legacy wallet address using Vertcoin core wallet 1. Download the wallet for Linux from vertcoin.org 2. Once downloaded extract the wallet executable and copy it to a location of your choice. 3. Open a terminal in the directory of the wallet binary. (right click in file explorer in the directory where terminal should start in and select "open in terminal" or open terminal and change directory to extracted folder) 4. Type "./vertcoin-qt" and press enter. This will start the wallet. 5. Choose where you want to save the wallet files. 6. Once wallet starts press ctrl + shift + D together to open debug window. In debug window then click on console tab. Once at console tab type the command "getnewaddress address_ type legacy". This will generate a legacy wallet addres for you. 7. Copy it and let the node sync in background it won't affect you UBUNTU 16.04 LTS : http://releases.ubuntu.com/16.04/ AMD GPU PRO 18.20 : https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-arti... Installing AMD GPU drivers 1. Download the driver. 2. Once downloadeded extract the files. 3. Open a terminal in the folder. (right click in file explorer in the directory where terminal should start in and select "open in terminal" or open terminal and change directory to extracted folder) 4. In terminal type "./amdgpu-install --headless --opencl-legacy,pal". HEADLESS is the important since it will only lead to install opencl components required by the miner and won't cause system crashes. 5. Restart the OS, for testing if it's working correctly. If you face login loop error press ctrl+alt+f3 and type command "amdgpu-uninstall". This will uninstall the drivers and should fix the login loop. But miner won't compile, and whether it'll run, I doubt it but do test it by only installing Lyclminer GitHub repository : https://github.com/CryptoGraphics/lyc... Premake 5 : https://premake.github.io/download.html Compiling the code 1. First download the dependencies required to compile the miner, by running the command "sudo apt-get install libcurl4-openssl-dev libssl-dev libjansson-dev opencl-headers" in a terminal. 2. Download the source code of the miner by clicking on clone or download button and downloading zip. 3. Download pre make 5 for linux. 4. Once downloaded extract source code, and pre make 5. 5. Copy pre make 5 to the directory containing pre make 5 dot lua, in this case its the folder containing the source code. 6. Ope terminal in the directory containing premake5.lua 7. In terminal type command "./premake5 gmake" this will create a build folder. 8. Change directory to build folder and enter command "make". 9. It will show a warning, while compiling the code. Ignore that it won't affect the miner. If everything is okay till now, no error will be shown and a bin folder will be created in the previous directory. 10. This folder will contain the binary to run the miner. Now copy the kernel folder in the parent directory to bin folder. Running the miner 1. Open terminal in bin folder and type command "./lyclMiner -g lyclMiner.conf" to create a config file. 2. Once the config file is created open it in any text editor, in ubuntu you can use hesitate in GUI or vim in CUI and add the pool details under "Pool connection setup" section. 3. Once config file is update, type "./lyclMiner" Optimising miner 1. Open lyclminer.conf. 2. Begin by changing the worksize. Increase it in multiple of 0.5, to find a stable worksize. 4. Once you get a stable worksize, then increase your core clock speeds. Memory clock is not that important 5. Find the most stable settings. 6. You can exclude a card from mining. Read Readme.md file of the miner for details Twitter: https://twitter.com/Vertcoin Donations: https://vertcoin.org/donate Roadmap: https://trello.com/b/RbsKPeGw/vertcoin-roadmap Join our Discord: https://discord.gg/vertcoin Official Website: https://vertcoin.org/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/vertcoin Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vertcoin/ Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/vertcoin-talk
