Environmental Conservation and Natural Resources - YES
Environmental conservation and natural resources depend on protecting our planet. http://YourEarthSafe.com Sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing at all! At YES that's exactly what we do: we protect parcels of virgin wilderness by purchasing them on the free market and placing them in an independently managed international land trust safe from human exploitation. YES is a tool that allows you to become the beneficiary of virgin wilderness (generically referred to as "Land Unit") to help preserve them in their natural state thus allowing you to collaborate in the conservation of the planet. However small it might be, all contributions to environmental protection are always helpful. By joining YES you as an individual are contributing in a very real way to maintaining the global ecosystem, protecting the globall community and letting nature take its course.

Imagine KC: Episode 7 - Natural Resources Conservation
In this episode we focus on natural resource conservation in the built environment. The show demonstrates why planning for what we don't build matters just as much as planning for what we do build. Stories look at how preserving the natural environment improves quality of life, reshapes our built environment and creates a more sustainable region by providing benefits to those who live downstream. This episode also highlights communities that are mixing "green" with "grey" infrastructure to address a number of problems. They are making strategic landscape investments to minimize flooding and water pollution, provide healthy recreation options, protect wildlife habitats and beautify neighborhoods. We'll also see how residential and commercial properties are incorporating sustainable features such as rain gardens and green roofs and other green solutions, to bring the built environment and the natural environment closer together. This yearlong series is produced by Angee Simmons, KCPT along with Mid-America Regional Council. Imagine KC is funded by: American Society of Civil Engineers, Garney Family Foundation Fund, Hall Family Foundation, Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, Kansas City Chapter of the AIA, William T. Kemper Foundation, Lafarge North America, ULI Kansas City, U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and WNET--Blueprint America. Natural Resources biology24x7.in.flv
Natural resources (economically referred to as land or raw materials) occur naturally within environments that exist relatively undisturbed by mankind, in a natural form. A natural resource is often characterized by amounts of biodiversity existent in various ecosystems. Natural resources are derived from the environment. This is currently restricted to the environment of Earth yet the theoretical possibility remains of extracting them from outside the planet, such as the asteroid belt.[1] Many of them are essential for our survival while others are used for satisfying our wants. Natural resources may be further classified in different ways.

Learn Grade 2 - EVS - Man made Resources
Grade 2 - EVS - Man made Resources.A poem I wrote to highlight the difference between Jesus and false religion. In the scriptures Jesus received the most opposition from the most religious people of his day. At it's core Jesus' gospel and the good news of the Cross is in pure opposition to self-righteousness/self-justification. Religion is man centered, Jesus is God-centered. This poem highlights my journey to discover this truth.

The human impact on this Earth
Check out the website Care2.com! Just as a disclaimer, I made this video when I was 13. When I talked about Mother Earth being mad, I more so meant that part metaphorically. I didn't mean that disasters are a cause of human activity, I meant beyond that, of how we are treating our earth, and the limited time we will have left if we continue to do so - our own self destruction. But looking back, this video is also a bit sadder than I had hoped - I wanted it to be factual through imagry, then inspiring at the end, as I think uplifting people is much more important. Anyways, thank you everyone for all the great responses to this video (: I can't tell you how honored I felt when I heard this was playing in classes at schools and colleges around the nation! Keep spreading the awareness. We all live in such a beautiful world, and humans really are beautiful souls with such great potential, we just have to reawaken to who we are, ridding ourselves of ignorance. The more truth we see, the more we can do to change our ways into more productive habits. And it really all does begin with caring. First about ourselves, then other people, then the world. Even though we cannot take on the responsibility of the entire earth, we can take personal responsibility; pledge to our Earth, and everything on it. LOVE, LIGHT, LIFE. HOPE AND HAPPINESS TO ALL! (: Disclaimer: I do not own any clips or music. All clips and music belong to their respectful owners. I do not earn any money with this video. This video is for enjoyment purposes only.

http://www.meterdata.com What is a Smart Meter? The definition of what actually is a Smart Meter seems to be clouded although there are many who consider a Smart Meter to be a modern day electricity meter which replaces older traditional meters measuring Kilowatt Hour Consumption in homes. Meter Data believes that the definition is much wider and how to define it exactly is probably evolving as you watch the media presentation. We have many natural resources including current fossil fuel burning which makes up a large percentage of energy supply to the world as well as nuclear power and hydroelectricity. Meter Data is an informative site which gives a balanced view of the situation. In order to grasp the meaning of meter data and smart measurement we will have to have a good overall appreciation of world energy energy demands, what is available, what is the cost , financial resources, return on investment and education,

Positive Rights vs. Negative Rights - Learn Liberty
Libertarianism Explained: Positive Rights vs. Negative Rights presented by Learn Liberty. Learn More: https://www.learnliberty.org/ Prof. Aeon Skoble describes the key differences between positive and negative rights. Fundamentally, positive rights require others to provide you with either a good or service. A negative right, on the other hand, only requires others to abstain from interfering with your actions. If we are free and equal by nature, and if we believe in negative rights, any positive rights would have to be grounded in consensual arrangements. Justin Dargin Harvard Lecture: Resource Nationalism: From Spanish Roots to an Arab Tree
A lecture by Justin Dargin at Harvard Kennedy School that discusses the myriad ways that oil and gas producing nations practice resource nationalism in the legal, political, and economic realms. "Resource nationalism" is not amenable to a single workable definition. Yet, there is the common understanding that resource nationalism, as with any other form of protectionism, feeds off the public's misgivings about foreign involvement in a strategic sector. Lurking behind calls for enhanced host country control over natural resources are allegations of "neocolonialism" and "imperialism" perpetrated by the Global North on the resources of the South. This presentation will examine the history of resource nationalism, from its origin in Spanish colonial philosophy to its more modern articulations. While resource nationalism covers a broad range of commodities, special focus will be given to the energy sector. Particular attention will also be paid to whether resource nationalism is simply a cyclical phenomenon that ebbs and flows in conjunction with the international pricing framework of oil and natural gas. The presentation will also review various past and present energy cartels to analyze how successful they have been and whether a new model is needed.

Summer School: Clean Land, RCRA and CERCLA
Co-sponsored by: The Environmental Law Institute & DC Bar's Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section Each summer the ELI Summer School convenes a complimentary seminar series that serves as an introduction to the legal and policy foundations of environmental protection in the United States. The weekly brown-bag lunch seminars are taught by experts in their fields, and introduce the audience to the major environmental statutes (including NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, TSCA, RCRA and CERCLA) and land use law. The series ends with an afternoon careers seminar followed by a networking reception. Clean Land: Hazardous Waste and Sites Panelists described federal law governing the management of hazardous wastes and the clean-up of hazardous waste sites with emphasis on the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). The speakers discussed about Love Canal and the events that led to the enactment of CERCLA, and how the allocation between various parties of responsibility for cleanup changed throughout the history of the statute. The discussion also addressed uncertainties that still exist in RCRA in areas such as the definition of solid waste and the rules for recycling. Faculty: Anna R.
